Breaking: Renault Duster and Tata Sierra Secure Top 5-Star Safety Ratings in Bharat NCAP
In a significant victory for road safety in India, two of the most anticipated SUVs—the Renault Duster and the Tata Sierra—have officially secured prestigious 5-star safety ratings in the latest round of Bharat NCAP crash tests.
This milestone marks a turning point for the Indian automotive industry, signaling that global safety standards are now the baseline for domestic manufacturers.
As safety becomes a top priority for Indian car buyers, these results set a new benchmark for the mid-size SUV segment.

Performance in the Spotlight: Crash Test Scores
The latest Bharat NCAP 5 star cars in India list has been bolstered by impressive data from both vehicles. While both achieved the top tier, the internal breakdown of the scores reveals high levels of engineering precision.
The Renault Duster safety rating is backed by a solid performance, scoring 30.49 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and a commendable 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP).
On the other hand, the Tata Sierra crash test result reflects Tata’s established reputation for ruggedness, edging out slightly ahead in adult safety with a score of 31.14 out of 32 for AOP and 44.73 out of 49 for COP.
Both vehicles demonstrated exceptional structural integrity, with the passenger compartments remaining stable during frontal and side impact tests.

Built for Protection: Safety Features
The path to five stars was paved by a comprehensive suite of safety tech. Both SUVs are equipped with high-strength steel frames designed to redirect energy away from the cabin. Standard features across variants include:
Six Airbags: Comprehensive protection for front and rear occupants.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Vital for maintaining control during sudden maneuvers.
ISOFIX Mounts: Ensuring the highest level of safety for child seats.
Advanced Braking: ABS with EBD and traction control systems come as standard.
Why Bharat NCAP Matters for the Indian Market?
The rise of Bharat NCAP as India’s official testing body has transformed how cars are sold. No longer is safety just an “add-on” feature; it is now a key differentiator in a crowded market.
By providing transparent, localized data, Bharat NCAP allows buyers to make informed choices based on real-world protection.
For Renault and Tata, these ratings provide a massive competitive advantage over rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
As the “Safety First” movement continues to sweep through India, the Duster and Sierra have firmly positioned themselves as the go-to choices for families who refuse to compromise on security.
