Ducati Hypermotard V2 Launched in India at Rs. 16.53 Lakh: What’s New With the 890cc V2?
Ducati has launched the new Ducati Hypermotard V2 in India, replacing the outgoing Hypermotard 950 with a new-generation supermoto motorcycle. Prices start at Rs. 16.53 lakh for the standard Hypermotard V2, while the more premium V2 SP costs Rs. 20.78 lakh, ex-showroom.
The new model brings Ducati’s latest 890cc V2 engine, a lighter monocoque chassis and updated electronics. Ducati has also made several changes to the suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres.
The Hypermotard V2 continues the distinctive supermoto formula with a tall riding position, compact body and performance-focused chassis. Bookings for both versions are now open at Ducati dealerships across India.

Ducati Hypermotard V2: Design
The new Ducati Hypermotard V2 retains the aggressive supermoto design but receives a sharper overall appearance. It gets a redesigned LED headlight, a compact tail section and Ducati’s signature trellis subframe. The motorcycle now uses a new aluminium monocoque chassis and a double-sided swingarm.
The standard version comes in Ducati Red, while the V2 SP gets a special sportier livery with a ‘20’ decal celebrating 20 years of the Hypermotard. Ducati has also increased the rear tyre width by 10mm. The standard motorcycle gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, while the SP uses stickier Rosso IV Corsa tyres and lighter forged aluminium wheels.
Ducati Hypermotard V2: Engine and Performance
The biggest mechanical change comes from the new 890cc, 90-degree V-twin engine. It produces 120.4hp and 94Nm, making the Hypermotard V2 the most powerful application of this engine in Ducati’s current lineup. Compared with the outgoing 950, power rises by 6hp while torque drops by 2Nm.
Ducati claims more than 70 percent of peak torque is available from 3,000rpm. The engine uses conventional spring-operated valves instead of Ducati’s Desmodromic system and comes with a six-speed gearbox. A bi-directional quickshifter comes as standard. The standard Hypermotard weighs 180kg without fuel, while the SP weighs 177kg.

Ducati Hypermotard V2: Suspension and Brakes
The standard Hypermotard V2 gets a fully adjustable 46mm KYB upside-down front fork with 170mm of travel. At the rear, it uses a preload- and rebound-adjustable monoshock with 160mm travel. Braking duties come from twin 320mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 calipers, while the rear gets a single disc.
The V2 SP upgrades to Öhlins suspension at both ends and Brembo M50 front calipers. Both motorcycles get 17-inch wheels and advanced electronic rider aids. The package includes cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine-brake control, managed through a six-axis IMU. A five-inch TFT display and four riding modes are also standard.
