2027 Honda CBR600RR Gets Fireblade Brakes and Sharper Aero, But India Misses Out Again

Honda has updated the 2027 Honda CBR600RR for the 2027 model year with several upgrades aimed at improving braking, aerodynamics and rider information. The middleweight supersport retains its 599cc inline-four engine, but Honda has borrowed important hardware from the larger CBR1000RR-R Fireblade.

The biggest changes include new Nissin four-piston front brake calipers, a revised ABS system with three modes, integrated aerodynamic elements and a larger five-inch TFT display. The updated CBR600RR will reach European and UK markets from January 2027.

However, Honda has not announced an India launch, meaning Indian enthusiasts will again miss out on the latest version of the Japanese manufacturer’s iconic 600cc supersport.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: Sharper Design and Revised Aerodynamics

Honda has given the 2027 CBR600RR a cleaner front-end design without changing its overall supersport identity. The most noticeable change comes from the aerodynamic elements around the headlights. Honda has integrated the previous protruding winglets into the front fairing, creating a more streamlined appearance.

The company says the redesigned setup maintains downforce without increasing drag. The revised fairing also aims to direct airflow away from the rider’s arms to reduce buffeting. The motorcycle continues with the aggressive CBR design, twin LED headlights and a compact supersport profile.

Honda will offer the updated CBR600RR in Ignition Red HRC TriColour and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: New Fireblade Brakes and Bigger TFT

The biggest technology and hardware upgrade comes from the braking system. Honda has fitted the CBR600RR with Nissin radial-mount four-piston front calipers derived from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. These calipers work with twin 310mm floating front discs.

The ABS system also receives a new module derived from the Fireblade, giving riders three settings: Standard, Track and Race. The motorcycle also gets a larger five-inch colour TFT display, replacing the previous 4.2-inch unit.

The new screen provides information such as shift indicators, lap times, lap count and fastest-lap data. The existing six-axis IMU-based electronics package continues with traction control, wheelie control and cornering ABS.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: 599cc Inline-Four Engine Continues

Honda has retained the 599cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four engine for 2027. The powertrain produces around 121hp at 14,250rpm and 63Nm of peak torque at 11,500rpm, depending on the market specification. The high-revving engine remains paired with a six-speed gearbox, assist-and-slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter.

Honda has not increased the headline power output, instead concentrating the 2027 update on chassis-related improvements. The motorcycle continues to use ride-by-wire, five riding modes, nine-level traction control, wheelie control and adjustable engine braking.

The 2027 CBR600RR therefore focuses on sharper control rather than a major mechanical overhaul.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: Suspension and Safety Equipment

The CBR600RR retains its aluminium twin-spar frame and fully adjustable suspension setup. At the front, it uses a 41mm Showa Big Piston USD fork, while the rear gets a Showa Unit Pro-Link monoshock. Both suspension units offer adjustment for riders looking to fine-tune the motorcycle for road or track use.

The new Fireblade-derived braking system represents the biggest safety upgrade for 2027. The three ABS modes allow riders to choose different levels of intervention. Track mode reduces intervention, while Race mode disables rear ABS.

The bike also continues with cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control and a six-axis IMU.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: Price and India Launch

Honda will price the 2027 CBR600RR at £10,999 in the UK, with deliveries starting in January 2027. India does not get the updated CBR600RR at present, as Honda has not announced an India launch. If introduced through the CBU route, its price would likely sit in the premium supersport segment. Key international rivals include the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and other middleweight supersport motorcycles.
