Kawasaki has showcased its all new Kawasaki Z900RS has just been unveiled with a major update, blending retro styling with cutting-edge electronics and enhanced performance.

It retains the iconic design cues that pay homage to Kawasaki’s legendary Z1, while integrating modern features that enhance safety, usability and ride comfort.

The new version brings an IMU-driven electronics package, updated suspension hardware and richer technology, positioning it not just as a nostalgic roadster but a truly modern classic ready for both everyday rides and spirited weekend outings across the globe.

Visually, the Kawasaki Z900RS update retains its vintage appeal round headlamps, teardrop fuel tank and classic metal side panels yet introduces subtle modern touches.

Ride-by-wire mirrors add clean integration, while the chassis remains a sporty, aggressive stance. Suspension upgrades like the 41 mm USD front fork and rear monoshock bolster both appearance and performance.

The bike’s proportion pays respect to its 1970s inspiration yet looks thoroughly contemporary thanks to premium finishes and refined detailing. This striking blend of heritage and innovation appeals to riders seeking character and modern ride quality in one package.

Kawasaki Z900RS: Powertrain

Talking about the powertrain the Kawasaki Z900RS has been equipped with 948 cc inline-four liquid-cooled engine. This powertrain now tuned to produce around 114 hp and 98 Nm of torque.

For transmission this engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission and continues the naked roadster’s reputation for strong mid-range thump and responsive performance. With ride-by-wire throttle now standard, the bike benefits from smoother input and better integration with its new electronics.

Kawasaki Z900RS: Features

A major highlight of the new Kawasaki Z900RS is its advanced electronics suite powered by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit).

This enables cornering support through Kawasaki’s Cornering Management Function (KCMF), cruise control, and a bi-directional quick shifter (KQS) for seamless up and down shifts.

Braking is handled by 300 mm twin front discs and a 250 mm rear disc, while suspension duties are carried out by the USD fork and optional higher-spec Öhlins unit in the SE variant.

Price and Availability of Kawasaki Z900RS

Kawasaki Z900RS launch, exact pricing and India availability are yet to be confirmed. Because Kawasaki often imports such models into India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), we may see its price cross the Rs 12-14 lakh mark (ex-showroom) once duties are factored. Internationally, launch timing has been announced for late 2025, with bookings opening soon.

In India it will compete with Yamaha XSR900 and BMW R NineT.
