Maruti Suzuki August 2026 Sales Rise 21.3% to 2.19 Lakh Units
Maruti Suzuki recorded total sales of 2,19,220 units in August 2026, registering a strong 21.3% year-on-year growth over 1,80,683 units sold in August 2025. Domestic passenger vehicle sales remained the key growth driver, while utility vehicles delivered the strongest segment-wise performance.
However, total sales declined compared with July 2026, when Maruti Suzuki achieved a record 2,41,421-unit monthly volume. The latest numbers show that strong SUV demand continues to support Maruti Suzuki’s growth as the Indian auto industry moves into the festive season.
Maruti Suzuki August 2026 Sales
- Total sales: 2,19,220 units, up 21.3% YoY.
- Domestic passenger vehicle sales: 1,76,971 units, up 34.8% YoY.
- Domestic PV + LCV sales: 1,80,078 units, up 34.3% YoY.
- Exports: 33,844 units, down 7.4% YoY.
- Sales to other OEMs: 5,298 units, down 47.5% YoY.
Utility Vehicles Lead Growth
Maruti Suzuki sold 79,045 utility vehicles in August 2026 compared with 54,043 units in August 2025. This represents a 46.3% YoY increase.
The segment includes models such as the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, e Vitara and Victoris. Utility vehicle sales also remained almost stable compared with July, when Maruti sold 78,851 units.
August Sales Decline 9.2% MoM
On a month-on-month basis, Maruti Suzuki’s total sales fell 9.2%, from 2,41,421 units in July to 2,19,220 units in August. Domestic passenger vehicle sales declined around 9.8% MoM, while utility vehicle sales remained largely unchanged. The sequential decline comes after July’s record performance and therefore does not indicate a similar annual slowdown.
FY2026-27 Sales Cross 11.4 Lakh Units
Between April and August 2026, Maruti Suzuki recorded 11,43,365 total sales, up around 28.6% YoY. With strong domestic passenger vehicle growth and rising SUV demand, Maruti Suzuki enters the upcoming festive season with a strong sales base.
