Demand of SUV is increasing day-by-day in India and now India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to shake up the compact SUV segment with the launch of its new model.
As per the reports company is planning to launch its new car Maruti Escudo on September 3, 2025.
In Indian market this car will compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and it will be sold via Arena dealerships, making it more accessible across urban and semi-urban markets.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo: Design
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo is built on the Global-C platform, shared with the Grand Vitara, ensuring a robust structure and spacious layout.
It features a bold SUV stance with split LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs, and a wide trapezoidal grille. At the rear, full-width LED tail lamps and a sculpted bumper add to its modern appeal.
Dimensionally, it measures around 4,365mm in length, with a 2,600mm wheelbase and 190–200mm ground clearance, offering ample cabin and boot space.
It also has a roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, and muscular body lines complete its rugged yet urban-friendly design.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo: Powertrain
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo is expected to feature a 1.5L K15C petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, producing around 103 PS and 138 Nm, paired with 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions.
In CNG variant it will deliver 88 PS and in a strong-hybrid e-CVT version it will deliver 115 PS.
The expected mileage is estimated at 20–21 kmpl for petrol and 25+ kmpl for hybrid trims. Also, the top speed is expected to be around 170 km/h, balancing efficiency with urban and highway performance.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo: Cabin
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo offers a modern and spacious cabin designed for comfort and tech-savvy users.
It features a layered dashboard layout with soft-touch materials and a floating 9- or 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The steering wheel is expected to be flat-bottomed and leather-wrapped, with mounted controls for audio, cruise, and voice functions.
Passenger comfort is enhanced with ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, and ambient lighting in higher trims. Safety is a priority, with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist, 360-degree camera, and possibly ADAS features like lane keep assist and forward collision warning.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo: Expected price and availability
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo is expected to launch on September 3, 2025, via Arena dealerships across India. Positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, it’s likely to be priced between Rs. 9.75 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive alternative in the compact SUV segment.
