Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG-AMT Launched in India at Rs 7.92 Lakh: Check Mileage, Features and Rivals
Maruti Suzuki has expanded the Swift range in India with a new Swift CNG-AMT option. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG-AMT starts at Rs 7.92 lakh (ex-showroom). It combines the lower running cost of CNG with the convenience of an automatic gearbox.
The company has introduced this powertrain to attract buyers who want an affordable hatchback for daily city travel. The Swift CNG-AMT also offers better claimed fuel efficiency than the manual version.
Maruti Swift CNG-AMT: Engine and Mileage
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG-AMT uses the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series engine as the manual CNG version. In CNG mode, the engine produces 69hp and 101.8Nm of torque. It works with a five-speed automated manual transmission.
The Swift CNG-AMT offers a claimed mileage of 35.34km/kg. This figure is higher than the manual CNG version’s claimed efficiency of 32.85km/kg. Maruti offers the new powertrain with VXi, VXi(O) and ZXi variants.
The car also gets a 55-litre CNG tank, a dedicated fuel-change switch and CNG-specific information on the instrument display. The tank takes up space in the boot, which limits luggage capacity.
Maruti Swift CNG-AMT: Price and Rivals
The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG-AMT starts at Rs 7.92 lakh. It competes with the Tata Tiago CNG-AMT and other affordable automatic hatchbacks. The new option gives Swift buyers an alternative to the manual gearbox.
