2027 Genesis GV60 Magma Unveiled With 641hp Powertrain, Drift Mode and Performance Upgrades

Genesis has officially introduced its first dedicated high-performance model, the 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma. The new luxury electric SUV marks the beginning of the brand’s performance-focused Magma lineup and brings aggressive styling, advanced technology, and a powerful electric drivetrain.

The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma is priced from $71,495 and comes equipped with a high-output all-wheel-drive powertrain producing 641hp. The performance-oriented electric SUV will initially be available at dealerships in select US states, including California, New Jersey, and New York.

Aggressive Design With Sporty Styling Elements

The Genesis GV60 Magma features a more dynamic design compared to the standard GV60, with a lower stance and several performance-focused exterior changes. The SUV gets a sporty front-end design, wider visual proportions, and a compact rear wing that enhances its aggressive appearance.

Customers can choose from four exterior paint options: Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte.

Inside the cabin, the GV60 Magma receives Genesis’ first performance-spec front seats, designed to offer better support during spirited driving. The interior features premium microsuede surfaces, Obsidian Black upholstery, and contrasting orange stitching that reflects the vehicle’s performance character.

641hp Electric Powertrain With Drift Mode

The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivering 641 horsepower. The electric SUV comes with multiple performance modes, including Boost, Drift, GT, and Sprint modes, along with a launch control function.

One of the highlights of the GV60 Magma is its exclusive Drift mode, which allows drivers to experience a more engaging driving experience by adjusting the vehicle’s power delivery and handling characteristics.

Advanced Driving Technology and Digital Features

The performance EV comes equipped with unique digital instrument displays and dedicated buttons for controlling various drive modes and vehicle settings.

Genesis has also added features that can simulate traditional driving sensations, including artificial engine sounds and simulated gear changes. These functions are designed to provide a more emotional driving experience but can be switched off according to driver preference.

With the GV60 Magma, Genesis aims to compete in the growing segment of high-performance electric SUVs while combining luxury, technology, and motorsport-inspired performance.
