New Benelli TRK 552 Launched in India at Rs. 7.22 Lakh: Design, Engine, Features and Rivals

Benelli has launched the new TRK 552 in India as the successor to the TRK 502. The new adventure tourer gets a larger 554cc parallel-twin engine, upgraded suspension hardware and several new touring features. Benelli has priced the TRK 552 at Rs. 7.22 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

The company has also introduced the more adventure-focused TRK 552X at Rs. 7.74 lakh. Both motorcycles use the same engine and share several mechanical components. The new TRK 552 also gets a 5-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, heated grips, a heated seat and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Bookings are now open through authorised Benelli Keeway dealerships.

Benelli TRK 552: Design

The Benelli TRK 552 retains the familiar adventure-touring design of the outgoing TRK 502 but receives several updates. It uses a tubular steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm and gets redesigned seats with additional padding.

The motorcycle features a large fuel tank with a 20-litre capacity, hand guards and an adjustable handlebar. The road-focused TRK 552 rides on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels with Pirelli tyres.

It has a ground clearance of 190mm and a seat height of 835mm. The motorcycle weighs 235kg and comes in Black and White colour options. The TRK 552X gets a taller stance and more off-road-focused design.

Benelli TRK 552: Powertrain

The new Benelli TRK 552 uses a 554cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin petrol engine. It produces 52 bhp at 8,500rpm and 49Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.

The larger engine replaces the 499.6cc unit used by the previous TRK 502. Benelli has also equipped the motorcycle with a 20-litre fuel tank, making it suitable for long-distance touring.

The TRK 552 uses a road-focused 17-inch wheel setup, while the TRK 552X gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear combination. Both models share the same powertrain.

Benelli TRK 552: Suspension and Braking

The TRK 552 uses a 50mm Marzocchi upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. This setup works with the tubular steel trellis frame and aluminium swingarm. Braking duties come from twin 320mm floating discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear.

Bosch dual-channel ABS comes as standard. The motorcycle also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system for added touring convenience. Unlike the TRK 552X, the standard TRK 552 uses 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

Its road-oriented setup focuses on highway and paved-road touring.

Benelli TRK 552: Price and Rivals

The Benelli TRK 552 costs Rs. 7.22 lakh, ex-showroom. The TRK 552X costs Rs. 7.74 lakh, while its Limited Edition costs Rs. 7.90 lakh. Its main rivals include the Honda NX500 E-Clutch and Kawasaki Versys 650.

The TRK 552 offers more touring equipment, while the Japanese rivals focus on lower weight and established adventure-tourer packages.
