Luxury SUV maker Range Rover is set to strengthen its presence in India by launching a series of limited-edition, India-centric models in the coming months.
Following the overwhelming response to the Ranthambore Edition, the company now plans to create more collector-oriented and region-inspired variants tailored to Indian tastes and preferences.

More Collector Editions in the Pipeline
According to senior company officials, Range Rover aims to roll out several exclusive trims inspired by India’s cultural and natural heritage. The idea is to connect emotionally with Indian consumers, many of whom value personalization and uniqueness in luxury vehicles.
“We received great feedback for building a product that reflects India’s story,” said Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover’s global division. “This motivates us to create more special editions that go beyond just aesthetics and offer a real connection with the Indian market.”

Local Production Driving Sales Surge
In a major push to localize operations, Range Rover has begun manufacturing the flagship Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in India. This move has significantly impacted demand, with the company reporting a 2.5x jump in sales since production commenced.
By assembling vehicles locally, Range Rover has not only reduced delivery timelines but also made their cars slightly more accessible to affluent Indian buyers. This local assembly has also paved the way for introducing India-specific editions without the complexities of CBU imports.
India: A Key Growth Market
Limpert pointed out that India is rapidly becoming one of the most promising luxury car markets globally. With over 900,000 High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) currently and projections of crossing 1.2 million by 2030, the premium car segment is ripe for expansion.
He also highlighted the demographic advantage—65% of the Indian population is under the age of 35, representing a young, aspirational audience that’s increasingly drawn to global luxury brands.
Tata Group’s Strategic Edge
Being part of the Tata Group has proven to be a strong advantage for Range Rover. Tata’s deep roots and operational experience in India are helping Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) navigate local challenges while tapping into synergies across sectors, from tech and engineering to customer experience.
“India’s GDP growth of around 6–7% offers long-term opportunities for premium automotive players,” Limpert emphasized, adding that Tata’s backing ensures agility and localized decision-making.
Himalayan-Inspired Special Edition Coming Soon
After the Ranthambore Edition, Range Rover is gearing up to introduce another bespoke model inspired by the Himalayas. While official specifications are still under wraps, this new variant is expected to feature unique design cues, interior themes, and paint finishes that evoke the rugged majesty of the Himalayan landscape.
Sources indicate that this Himalayan Edition will also be built locally, ensuring quicker availability and a more competitive price tag for Indian buyers.
