Tata Motors July 2026 Sales: Passenger Vehicle Sales Jump 59%

Tata Motors has posted one of its strongest monthly sales performances in recent years, reporting impressive growth across both its passenger vehicle (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) businesses.

The automaker witnessed a sharp rise in domestic sales during July 2026 while also setting a new milestone in its EV segment by crossing 15,000 monthly wholesales for the first time.

The strong performance reflects growing demand for Tata Motors’ SUV lineup, continued leadership in the electric vehicle market, and healthy customer interest ahead of the festive season.

Passenger Vehicle Sales Rise Nearly 59%

In July 2026, Tata Motors sold a total of 63,760 passenger vehicles, including domestic sales and exports. This is a significant increase from 40,175 units sold during the same month last year, representing a 58.71% year-on-year growth.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 62,611 units, compared to 39,521 units in July 2025, translating into a 58.42% YoY increase. On a month-on-month basis, sales also witnessed steady growth, rising 0.86% from 62,076 units sold in June 2026.

Tata Motors Crosses 15,000 EV Sales Milestone

The biggest highlight of July 2026 was Tata Motors’ record-breaking performance in the electric vehicle segment.

The company dispatched 15,217 electric passenger vehicles during the month, compared to 7,124 units in July 2025. This represents an increase of 8,093 units and an impressive 113.60% year-on-year growth.

It is the first time Tata Motors has crossed the 15,000-unit monthly EV wholesale mark, further strengthening its position as India’s leading electric passenger vehicle manufacturer.

The company also revealed that it recorded its highest-ever Vahan registrations, indicating strong retail demand alongside robust wholesale dispatches.

Tata Punch Continues Winning Formula

Tata Motors also announced that the Punch recorded its highest-ever monthly sales, continuing its strong run in the Indian market. The compact SUV has emerged as one of the brand’s key volume drivers, supported by its combination of practicality, safety, and value for money.

Apart from the Punch, the company reported healthy booking momentum across both its internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle portfolios, highlighting sustained consumer confidence in the Tata brand.

More New Launches Expected Before Festive Season

Looking ahead, Tata Motors is expected to further strengthen its product portfolio with the introduction of a new variant of the Nexon, one of India’s best-selling compact SUVs.

The company is also likely to launch the Safari EV ahead of the festive season, building on the positive response received by the recently introduced Sierra EV. These upcoming launches are expected to expand Tata Motors’ electric SUV lineup and help maintain its leadership in India’s rapidly growing EV market.

With strong sales momentum, record EV volumes, and an expanding product portfolio, Tata Motors appears well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory through the second half of 2026 as demand for SUVs and electric vehicles continues to rise in the Indian market.
