Japanese automaker Toyota is planning to update its popular Toyota Fortuner SUV with a diesel hybrid engine.
According to the information, the company will launch this SUV next year in India. As new features, the company can add a 2.8-liter hybrid diesel engine of the GD series.
This will increase the mileage of the SUV and the performance of the vehicle will also improve.

Toyota Fortuner SUV: Looks
The Fortuner facelift to be built on the brand’s modular TNGA architecture. Some time ago it was also spotted during testing. It gets a muscular bonnet, a bigger grille at the front and new LED headlights.
The sides of the car will also get roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, electric ORVM for rear view, sharp body lines, side steppers and designer wheels.
At the rear, the car gets wrap-around taillights, shark-fin antenna for better aero dynamic and rear window wiper.
Expected features of Toyota Fortuner facelift
The current Toyota Fortuner gets a large dual-tone 7-seater cabin with head-up display. It has a center console, which separates the driver and passenger portion.
Its facelift model is expected to get a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car will also get a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment console supporting connectivity features.
For the safety of the passengers, the car can be provided with features like multiple airbags, lane departure warning and ADAS technology.
The vehicle will come with a mild-hybrid diesel powertrain
The mild-hybrid diesel powertrain on the Fortuner facelift will get a 2.8-litre engine with 1GD-FTV technology.
It is likely to get the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which is already available on several Suzuki mild-hybrid models. However, the only difference is that this time it is being mated to a diesel motor.
In the current model of the car, it has been given a 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which generates torque of 161hp power 242Nm.
What will be the price of Toyota Fortuner facelift?
Price and availability of the new Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market will be revealed at the time of its launch. However, it is being speculated that it can be launched around Rs 40 to 45 lakh.
