Swedish carmaker Volvo has achieved a spectacular growth of 31 percent year-on-year in terms of sales last year.
According to the sales report, the company has sold 2,423 luxury cars in the year 2023. This figure was 1,851 during the 12 months of 2022.
The company has received the highest sales from its flagship Volvo XC60 SUV, which remains its best-selling model in the country.
Β Volvo Cars 2024 sales
Volvo said that 921 vehicles of its best-selling XC60 SUV were sold last year. This SUV was launched in October, 2021 with a mild hybrid powertrain.
It has a 2.0-litre petrol engine, which is connected to a 48V battery pack. This setup is capable of generating power of 250hp and torque of 350Nm.
The price of this car in the Indian market is Rs 68.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
If we look at the sales of Volvo’s luxury electric cars last year, 553 EVs were sold during this period, which is second only to BMW.
One-fifth of the company’s total sales come from Volvo XC40 Recharge. The Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV, launched in September last year, has also sold 180 vehicles by December 2023.
If we look at the price, the price of C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge is Rs 61.25 lakh and Rs 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
