What We Know About Ferrari’s First Electric Car ‘Luce’? Know Here

Ferrari has officially entered the electric vehicle segment with its first-ever fully electric car, the Ferrari Luce.

The Italian luxury sports car maker is known globally for its powerful petrol engines, Formula 1 heritage, and iconic supercars, making this EV launch one of the biggest changes in Ferrari’s history.

The Ferrari Luce combines extreme performance, futuristic technology, and premium luxury while still retaining Ferrari’s signature emotional driving experience.

As global demand for high-performance electric vehicles rapidly grows, this model marks a massive technological transition for Maranello.

Design And Exterior Styling

The Ferrari Luce showcases sharp aerodynamic styling with a sporty, low-slung, five-door coupe-inspired silhouette. To differentiate it from traditional supercars, Ferrari collaborated with the famous design firm LoveFrom, led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, creating a glass-heavy body with a unique greenhouse.

The EV features ultra-slim LED light panels integrated flush with the surfaces, aggressive air vents, and floating aerodynamic wings. To maximize driving dynamics and lower weight, the Luce utilizes an innovative chassis built with 75% recycled aluminium alongside lightweight carbon fibre elements.

It sits on massive 23-inch front and 24-inch rear alloy wheels—the largest ever fitted to a production Ferrari.

Electric Powertrain And Performance

The performance of the Luce is groundbreaking, powered by an in-house developed quad-motor all-wheel-drive setup.

This advanced electric powertrain produces a staggering 1,035 horsepower, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 310 km/h. Fed by a structural 122-kWh battery pack featuring an 800V architecture, it supports 350 kW fast charging and offers a driving range of over 530 km (WLTP).

To ensure it handles like a true Ferrari, engineers included full torque vectoring and an active suspension system derived from the F80 supercar to maintain a sporty, connected handling feel.

Cabin And Luxury Features

Inside, the driver-focused cockpit eliminates the central tunnel entirely, allowing the Luce to become Ferrari’s first-ever five-seater luxury cabin. The interior blends handcrafted luxury with futuristic tech, featuring premium leather upholstery, recycled anodized aluminium, and strengthened glass.

Rather than overwhelming passengers with touchscreens, it cleverly retains tactile physical buttons and mechanical switches paired with digital displays developed with Samsung Display.

Ambient lighting, sporty bucket seats, connected car technology, and a massive 21-speaker, 3,000-watt premium audio system complete this high-end experience.

Luce: Safety And Driver Assistance Features

Ferrari has packed its first EV with a comprehensive safety and performance-focused driver assistance package. Alongside standard safety features like multiple airbags, traction control, and electronic stability control, the Luce introduces an incredibly fast 48V active suspension system that reacts quickly enough to eliminate the need for traditional anti-roll bars.

It also features four-wheel steering for exceptional stability during high-speed cornering. Advanced braking systems with massive 15.4-inch front rotors ensure immense stopping power, safely balancing extreme EV acceleration with high-speed control.

Expected Price And Availability

The Ferrari Luce made its official global debut in May 2026. It is expected to enter production later this year for European markets, priced around €550,000.

If launched in India, import duties and customization would easily push its expected starting price well above Rs 5 crore. Ferrari plans to initially manufacture the EV in limited numbers at its brand-new “E-building” facility in Maranello.

Luce: Conclusion

The Ferrari Luce is set to become one of the most important electric supercars in the luxury automobile industry. Representing Maranello’s biggest technological transformation, it masterfully proves that switching to zero-emissions electric mobility doesn’t mean sacrificing the legendary performance identity of a Ferrari.
