True to MG’s feature-heavy reputation, the Majestor PHEV will boast a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment setup, a premium three-row cabin with ventilated and massaging captain seats, a dual wireless charging bay, a large panoramic sunroof, and a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite. It will play a vital role in expanding MG’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio into the luxury territory.

MG Starlight 560 PHEV

Aimed directly at mass-market family buyers, MG recently patented the design of the Wuling Starlight 560 in India, with test mules already spotted testing locally at charging stations. Slated for a highly anticipated launch around Diwali 2026 or early 2027, the MG Starlight 560 PHEV is set to become India’s first mainstream family-oriented plug-in hybrid SUV.

The powertrain combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery pack, generating a combined system output of approximately 194hp and 230Nm of torque, alongside a claimed pure-electric range of up to 100 km.

Inside, the spacious three-row cabin will treat occupants to a minimalist dashboard dominated by a crisp 12.8-inch touchscreen running wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, premium upholstery, and advanced passive safety systems, serving as a highly efficient alternative to conventional diesel seven-seaters like the Safari or XUV 7XO.

Toyota is currently engineering a radical generation shift for India’s undisputed premium SUV king, transitioning the vehicle over to the rigid TNGA-F ladder-frame platform. Following a global debut by late 2026, a high-tech Toyota Fortuner Hybrid variant utilizing advanced plug-in hybrid technology is highly anticipated for a 2027 India launch.

The innovative PHEV configuration will likely hook up a dual-motor electric system to a hybrid-assisted engine, enabling an electric-only city driving range of 50 to 80 kilometers and a combined range close to 900 kilometers.
