Ducati Desmo450 EDS Revealed: First-Ever Street-Legal Enduro Bike From Ducati

Ducati has officially unveiled the Ducati Desmo450 EDS, its first-ever street-legal enduro motorcycle. Based on the race-bred Desmo450 MX motocross bike, the new model is designed to offer the perfect balance between hardcore off-road capability and everyday road usability.

The launch marks a major step in Ducati’s growing presence in the off-road motorcycle segment. The Desmo450 EDS features a lightweight chassis, a powerful single-cylinder engine and several modifications to meet road-legal requirements.

The motorcycle is expected to reach global dealerships in mid-2026, while an India launch could take place sometime in 2027.

Ducati Desmo450 EDS: Design And Styling

The Ducati Desmo450 EDS shares much of its design with the Desmo450 MX but receives several updates for street use. It comes equipped with a full LED headlight, rear LED taillight, turn indicators, mirrors and a license plate holder.

Ducati has also fitted road-legal dual-purpose tyres for better versatility. The motorcycle retains its aggressive off-road stance, high ground clearance and lightweight aluminium frame.

A larger fuel tank and revised bodywork further enhance its ability to tackle long-distance adventure rides.

Ducati Desmo450 EDS: Engine And Performance

Powering the Desmo450 EDS is a 449cc single-cylinder engine featuring Ducati’s signature Desmodromic valve technology. The engine is derived from the Desmo450 MX motocross bike and is expected to deliver strong low-end torque along with impressive top-end performance.

Ducati has paired the motor with a six-speed gearbox specifically tuned for enduro riding. The motorcycle is expected to offer excellent power-to-weight performance thanks to its lightweight construction, making it suitable for both technical trails and highway cruising.

Ducati Desmo450 EDS: Features And Technology

Ducati has equipped the Desmo450 EDS with a range of rider-focused technologies. Expected features include multiple riding modes, traction control, launch control, quick-shifter and engine brake management.

The bike may also support smartphone connectivity through Ducati’s digital ecosystem. Suspension duties are handled by long-travel fully adjustable components designed to absorb rough terrain with ease.

The combination of advanced electronics and off-road hardware aims to provide riders with confidence across a variety of riding conditions.

The motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, a setup preferred by serious off-road riders. Combined with its low weight and high-performance suspension, the EDS promises exceptional handling on demanding trails.

Expected Price And Rivals

The Ducati Desmo450 EDS is expected to be positioned as a premium enduro motorcycle. If launched in India, its price could exceed Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). Key rivals would include the KTM 500 EXC-F, Husqvarna FE 501 and Beta RR 480 Race Edition.
