MINI Convertible Stardust Edition Launched in India at Rs 62.90 Lakh

MINI India has introduced the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition in the Indian market at a price of Rs 62.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as a limited-run model, the special edition is available exclusively through the MINI India website and is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Customers can place their orders online, with deliveries beginning immediately.

Compared to the standard MINI Convertible, which is priced at Rs 58.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Stardust Edition commands a premium of Rs 4.40 lakh, primarily for its exclusive styling and additional premium touches rather than any mechanical upgrades.

MINI Convertible Stardust Edition: Exclusive Exterior Styling

The MINI Convertible Stardust Edition stands out with its exclusive Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic paint finish, a colour reserved specifically for this variant. The premium appearance is further enhanced by Vibrant Silver mirror caps, 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke alloy wheels, and champagne-finished exterior accents that give the convertible a more sophisticated look.

One of the biggest highlights is the signature MINI Yours black fabric soft top, featuring a woven Union Jack pattern that reinforces the brand’s British heritage. MINI has not disclosed how many units will be offered in India, making the Stardust Edition a rare offering for enthusiasts looking for something exclusive.

Convertible Roof and Practicality

The electric fabric roof remains one of the key attractions of the MINI Convertible. It can be fully opened in just 18 seconds and closed in 15 seconds, while also being operable at speeds of up to 30km/h, allowing drivers to use the feature even in slow-moving traffic. The roof also includes a sunroof mode that slides back by 40cm, letting fresh air into the cabin without folding the entire roof.

In terms of practicality, the Convertible offers 215 litres of boot space with the roof closed, which reduces to 160 litres when the roof is folded. While it isn’t designed as a family vehicle, it provides enough luggage capacity for weekend getaways or short trips.

Same 204hp Turbo-Petrol Engine

Mechanically, the Stardust Edition remains identical to the standard MINI Cooper S Convertible. It is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 204hp and 300Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels. MINI claims the Convertible can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240km/h.

Since there are no changes to the powertrain or suspension setup, buyers can expect the same engaging driving experience as the regular model.

Premium Cabin and Features

Inside, the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition continues with the brand’s modern and minimalist design philosophy. The cabin is centred around MINI’s signature round OLED touchscreen, which serves as both the infotainment system and digital control hub. Running on MINI Operating System 9, it supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, connected car technology, and remote software updates. The interior also features electrically adjustable sports seats finished in Vescin, MINI’s leather-free upholstery made partly from recycled materials, while the driver’s seat benefits from an Active Comfort function for enhanced long-distance comfort.

The feature list includes a Harman Kardon premium surround sound system, head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, Digital Key Plus, cruise control, parking assistant, reversing camera, dynamic stability control, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and Comfort Access keyless entry. The Digital Key Plus feature allows compatible smartphones to unlock and start the vehicle, while Comfort Access automatically locks or unlocks the car when the key is within approximately 1.5 metres.

MINI Convertible Stardust Edition: Price and Availability
