2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Launch on October 16: New Design, TFT Display, Engine and Expected Price

Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch the updated 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V in India on October 16, 2026. The company has released multiple teasers ahead of the launch, revealing changes to the motorcycle’s design and equipment.

The updated model will enter the competitive 160cc street motorcycle segment, where it will rival bikes such as the Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. The biggest expected upgrade is a new TFT instrument cluster, which could bring features such as Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps mirroring.

Hero is also expected to introduce visual changes and new colour options with the updated motorcycle.

2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Design

The latest teaser suggests that Hero MotoCorp has made several styling changes to the Xtreme 160R 4V. The motorcycle appears to feature revisions around the fuel tank, headlight and tail section. The updated model also gets a sharper-looking rear design, while the latest teaser shows changes to the motorcycle’s overall silhouette and rider triangle.

Hero has not revealed the complete design yet. However, the teasers indicate that the company wants to give the Xtreme 160R 4V a fresher appearance without moving away from its existing streetfighter design. New colours and graphics are also expected as part of the update. The motorcycle could also receive changes to the seating position and ergonomics.

2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Engine and Performance

The updated Xtreme 160R 4V is expected to retain its existing 163.2cc, four-valve, single-cylinder engine. The current motorcycle produces 16.9PS and 14.6Nm and uses a five-speed gearbox. Hero could revise the engine tuning for the updated model, but the company has not confirmed any powertrain changes yet.

The current motorcycle uses an oil-cooled engine and features a 5-speed transmission. Its hardware package includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock and disc brakes at both ends. The current model also gets dual-channel ABS. Hero could carry most of these mechanical components into the updated version, with the major changes focused on technology and styling.

2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V TFT Display and Features

The biggest expected upgrade on the new Xtreme 160R 4V is the instrument console. The motorcycle is expected to get a colour TFT display instead of the existing LCD unit. Hero could also introduce Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts and Google Maps mirroring with the new console.

Google Maps mirroring would allow the motorcycle to compete more directly with rivals such as the latest TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V, which offer advanced connected features. The existing Xtreme 160R 4V already gets features such as ride modes, cruise control, electronic throttle body and turn-by-turn navigation on higher variants. Hero is expected to carry forward several of these features on the updated motorcycle.

2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Price and Rivals

The current Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is priced from around Rs. 1.35 lakh ex-showroom. Hero has not announced the price of the updated model yet. The new motorcycle could receive a price increase because of its additional features and updated equipment. It will continue to compete with the Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
