Renault Duster Hybrid Bookings Open at Rs. 21,000 Ahead of October 17 Launch

Renault is preparing to bring the much-awaited Renault Duster Hybrid to the Indian market. The company has opened bookings for the new Renault Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 ahead of its official launch on October 17, 2026.

Customers can reserve the SUV by paying a booking amount of Rs. 21,000 through Renault India’s website or authorised dealerships. Renault has also revealed the SUV’s official ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29kmpl, giving it a potential mileage advantage over several strong-hybrid rivals.

The Duster Hybrid will become the third powertrain option in the new-generation Duster range in India.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Design and Exterior

The Duster Hybrid is expected to retain the rugged design of the standard new-generation Duster. Renault has not revealed any major exterior changes specifically for the hybrid version yet. The SUV should continue with its upright stance, sharp body lines, muscular wheel arches and distinctive LED lighting.

The production Duster also gets a wide grille, C-shaped lighting elements and a prominent SUV profile. The hybrid version could receive subtle E-Tech or hybrid badging to distinguish it from the petrol models.

Renault has not confirmed any exclusive alloy wheels, colour options or other cosmetic changes for the hybrid variant ahead of its October 17 launch.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Powertrain and Mileage

The biggest change comes under the bonnet. The Duster Hybrid will use Renault’s E-Tech 160 strong-hybrid system, combining a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery pack.

The system produces around 160hp and 172Nm and uses a multi-mode automatic transmission. The setup can operate using electric power, the petrol engine or a combination of both depending on driving conditions.

Renault says the system can allow up to 80 percent of city driving in EV mode. The company has also confirmed an ARAI-rated efficiency of 29kmpl.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Cabin and Features

The Duster Hybrid is expected to retain the cabin layout and feature package of the regular Duster. The SUV gets a modern dashboard with a large touchscreen infotainment system and Renault’s openR link multimedia system with Google built-in.

It also offers a digital driver display, connected-car technology and a practical five-seat layout. Renault has developed the India-spec Duster with around 90 percent of its elements specifically for the model.

The hybrid version could receive dedicated E-Tech graphics or information screens showing energy flow and battery usage. However, Renault has not yet confirmed the complete India-spec feature list for the hybrid variant.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Launch and Expected Price

Renault will officially launch the Duster Hybrid in India on October 17, 2026. The company has not announced its price yet. The hybrid could command a premium over the existing petrol Duster, with expectations placing it around Rs. 19 lakh to Rs. 23 lakh.

It will rival the Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder strong-hybrid variants.
