Maruti Victoris Spied Testing: New Powertrain or Facelift?
Maruti Suzuki could be testing a new version of the Victoris SUV in India. A heavily camouflaged test vehicle has recently appeared on public roads, raising questions about a possible powertrain update or other mechanical changes.
The Victoris currently offers petrol, strong-hybrid and factory-fitted S-CNG options. Selected petrol variants also get the ALLGRIP Select all-wheel-drive system.
The latest sighting has led to speculation about E85 flex-fuel technology or a compressed biogas (CBG) powertrain. However, Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed the purpose of the test vehicle. It is also too early to conclude that the SUV will receive a facelift.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Expected Design Changes
The heavy camouflage makes it difficult to identify any changes to the Victoris’s exterior design. The current SUV features slim LED daytime running lights, a sculpted front bumper, squared-off wheel arches and prominent body cladding.
Its rear design includes segmented LED tail lamps and a sloping rear windscreen. The top variants also feature 17-inch alloy wheels. Since Maruti launched the Victoris in September 2025, a major facelift appears unlikely at this stage.
The test vehicle could instead feature changes related to mechanical development or alternative-fuel technology. However, the available images do not confirm any new exterior parts or design updates.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Expected Powertrain and Technology
The current Maruti Suzuki Victoris offers a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain and a factory-fitted S-CNG option. Selected petrol variants also feature ALLGRIP Select all-wheel drive.
The latest test vehicle could be evaluating a different fuel technology, although its specifications remain unknown. One possibility is E85 flex-fuel compatibility, which would allow a specially adapted engine to use approved petrol-ethanol blends containing up to 85% ethanol.
Another possibility is compressed biogas technology. Suzuki previously showcased a CBG-powered Victoris at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. However, Maruti has not confirmed that the newly spotted SUV uses either technology.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Expected Cabin and Features
The latest spy sighting has not revealed enough information to confirm changes inside the Victoris. The current model offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and connected-car features, depending on the variant. Higher versions also get a premium sound system, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.
Maruti could introduce additional technology or equipment if it plans an updated version. However, there is no confirmed information about a revised dashboard, new upholstery or additional features. If the company is testing an alternative-fuel powertrain, the cabin may remain largely unchanged.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Expected Safety Features
The current Victoris comes with six airbags as standard and offers several additional safety technologies. These include electronic stability control, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS on selected variants.
The SUV has also received a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Maruti has not announced any safety upgrades for the camouflaged test vehicle.
If the company introduces a new powertrain, the existing safety package could continue, subject to the final specification. Any changes to the vehicle’s structure, equipment or safety systems will need official confirmation before buyers can assess the updated model.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Expected Price and Rivals
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris currently costs Rs. 10.50 lakh to Rs. 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Maruti has not announced a new variant, revised price or launch timeline for the test vehicle. Its main rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Honda Elevate.
