2026 Maruti Suzuki Victoris Spied Testing? Here’s What Could Change

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is already one of the brand’s key offerings in India’s midsize SUV segment, but a recent sighting has raised questions about whether Maruti Suzuki is testing an updated version of the SUV.

The Victoris measures 4.36 metres in length and sits alongside the Grand Vitara in Maruti’s SUV portfolio. The SUV currently offers petrol, strong-hybrid and CNG powertrain options, along with features such as Level 2 ADAS and an all-wheel-drive system on selected variants.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Victoris Spied Testing: What Could Change?

The latest sighting does not provide enough evidence to confirm that Maruti Suzuki is testing a facelifted Victoris. The SUV seen on Indian roads could also be a development or test vehicle related to Maruti’s wider product plans. Therefore, it is too early to confirm any exterior changes or a new model year update.

The current Victoris already follows Maruti’s latest SUV design language. It gets slim connected LED lighting at the front, a sculpted bumper, squared-off wheel arches and prominent body cladding. The rear features a raked windscreen and segmented LED tail lamps. Top variants get 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

If Maruti is testing an updated Victoris, the changes could focus on equipment and technology rather than a major redesign. The company has already introduced several premium features on the SUV, including a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.

Maruti Victoris Engine Options

The current Maruti Suzuki Victoris is available with three powertrain choices. The 1.5-litre petrol engine comes with mild-hybrid technology, while the strong-hybrid version combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. Maruti also offers the SUV with an S-CNG powertrain.

The CNG version uses an underbody-mounted CNG tank, allowing the SUV to retain usable boot space. The strong-hybrid version is currently the most fuel-efficient powertrain in the Victoris range, with an ARAI-rated efficiency of up to 28.65kmpl.

The petrol version is available with manual and automatic transmission options, while the strong-hybrid uses an e-CVT. Selected petrol variants also get Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel-drive system.

At present, there is no confirmed information suggesting that Maruti will introduce a new engine or hybrid system with the suspected test vehicle. Any major powertrain change is likely to be confirmed closer to an official announcement.

Features and Safety

The Victoris already gets a long list of technology and safety features. Its equipment includes a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, connected-car technology and a premium audio system. Higher variants also get a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance features.

Safety remains one of the major highlights of the SUV. The Victoris has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating and became Maruti Suzuki’s first model to offer Level 2 ADAS. The system includes multiple driver-assistance functions designed to reduce the risk of collisions and assist the driver in different traffic situations.

If the latest test vehicle represents an upcoming update, Maruti could use it to introduce additional connected features, revised software or small equipment changes. However, these details remain unconfirmed at this stage.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Victoris Price and Rivals

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris currently starts at Rs. 10.50 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom. If Maruti introduces an updated version, prices could increase slightly depending on the changes. Its key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate and Skoda Kushaq.
