Hero Classic Concept Unveiled at EICMA 2026: Could It Rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350?

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled a new retro motorcycle Hero Classic Concept at EICMA 2026. The concept previews the brand’s possible entry into the classic roadster segment, where the Royal Enfield Classic 350 currently has a strong presence.

It features traditional motorcycle styling, including a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, wire-spoke wheels and curved mudguards.  Hero has not revealed its engine specifications or confirmed production plans. The concept also gets premium-looking finishes and modern lighting elements.

If Hero develops it into a production model, the motorcycle could become a new rival to the Classic 350 and other retro roadsters in India.

Hero Classic Concept: Design and Styling

The new Hero Classic Concept features a rounded fuel tank, circular headlamp, wide handlebar and deeply curved front and rear mudguards. Its metallic blue paintwork gets polished metal surfaces and gold-coloured detailing. The tank also carries decorative inserts with Hero branding and a brown strap running across its centre.

A diamond-stitched brown seat and matching handlebar grips add to its retro appearance. The round headlamp features an H-shaped lighting signature, while a small circular tail lamp sits on the rear mudguard.

The concept also gets a compact circular instrument display, wire-spoke wheels and a long, low-mounted exhaust.

The company has also not confirmed whether the motorcycle uses an existing engine or a new powertrain.

Hero Classic Concept: Engine and Performance

Hero has not announced the engine specifications of the Classic Concept. The company has also not confirmed whether the motorcycle uses an existing engine or a new powertrain. The recently unveiled Harley-Davidson X350T could offer a possible technical reference, as it uses a downsized version of the 440cc engine developed through the Hero-Harley partnership.

However, Hero has not confirmed any connection between the X350T and this concept. Its displacement, power, torque, gearbox and engine configuration remain unknown. The production motorcycle could receive a different engine and mechanical package depending on Hero’s final development plans.

Features, Hardware and Expected Equipment

The concept combines retro styling with modern lighting and a compact circular instrument display. Its images also show disc brakes at both ends and a chain final drive. Hero has not shared detailed information about the braking system, suspension setup, chassis or wheel specifications.

The company has also not explained the functions of the circular display. The gold-finished headlamp housing, polished engine covers and decorative bodywork give the concept a premium appearance. However, Hero could change several design elements and equipment before production.

The final motorcycle may also receive a different set of features to meet cost and market requirements.

Expected Price and Rivals

Hero has not confirmed the concept’s production status, launch timeline or expected price. If the company develops it for India, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 could become its primary rival.

The Honda CB350 range, Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles could also compete in the same retro segment. The production model’s positioning will depend on its engine, equipment and final pricing.
