Jaguar Land Rover Recalls 23,677 Vehicles Over DC-DC Converter Fault
Jaguar Land Rover has recalled 23,677 vehicles in the US over a potential fault in the DC-DC converter. The issue affects several Jaguar and Land Rover models equipped with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
A failure in the converter can stop the 12-volt battery from charging. In some cases, this could result in a sudden loss of drive power and exterior lighting. The recall covers vehicles from multiple model years, including the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar F-Pace.
What Is the Problem?
The affected vehicles use a DC-DC converter to supply power from the 48-volt hybrid system to the 12-volt electrical system. The converter can malfunction during high electrical loads or fail to start correctly because of a software issue. If the 12-volt battery stops charging, its power level can gradually drop.
This can eventually cause the vehicle to lose drive power. The fault can also affect the exterior lights, increasing the safety risk, especially when driving at night. Owners may see a “Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected” warning on the instrument cluster.
Which Jaguar and Land Rover Models Are Affected?
The recall covers several models and model years. These include the 2019-2024 Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Range Rover, Defender and Discovery Sport, and 2020-2023 Range Rover Evoque.
The list also includes the 2021-2024 Range Rover Velar and Discovery, along with the 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace.

The recall highlights the importance of the 48-volt electrical system in modern mild-hybrid vehicles.
