JSW Motors Jetour T2-Based SUV Could Be Called Combat
JSW Motors is preparing to enter India’s passenger vehicle market with a rugged SUV based on the Jetour T2. The upcoming model has now been linked to the Combat name, which JSW Motors has trademarked in India.
The SUV has already been spotted testing on Indian roads and is expected to become the company’s first passenger vehicle in the country. It will combine a boxy design with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a premium feature list.
JSW Motors is expected to launch the SUV in 2026, giving Indian buyers another option in the premium SUV segment.

JSW Combat: What’s New?
The biggest highlight is the SUV’s rugged design. The Jetour T2-based model gets an upright body, squared-off wheel arches, a high bonnet and a large glasshouse. The rear features vertically positioned LED tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel cover. The India-spec version is expected to retain most of the global T2’s styling while replacing the Jetour branding with JSW Motors badges.
Power will come from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid system. The global T2 i-DM combines the engine with a 26.7kWh battery and two electric motors. The setup produces a combined 381hp and 610Nm. The global model can cover up to 139km on electric power alone under the NEDC cycle, while its claimed combined range exceeds 1,000km. India-spec specifications may differ.
The SUV could also offer premium features such as a large touchscreen, digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, advanced driver assistance systems, wireless charging and a premium audio system.
Price and Rivals
Earlier reports estimated the JSW Jetour T2-based SUV at around Rs 38 lakh-Rs 40 lakh, although current reports suggest the final positioning and pricing could differ. It could rival the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian, depending on its final price and specifications.
