Kia Motors is continuing to expand its portfolio in the Indian market. According to reports, the company is planning to launch its new offering, the Kia Syros EV, in India in 2025.
Kia Motors is one of the major car brands in the Indian market and is already selling the Kia EV6 and Kia EV9 in the country. However, these cars are quite expensive, and budget-friendly electric vehicles (EVs) are performing well in sales.
The Nexon EV is one of the best-selling cars in this segment, and to compete, Kia Motors will introduce its electric version of the Syros. In this article, we will discuss the expected features of the upcoming Syros EV.
Kia Syros EV: Design and Dimension
In terms of design, the upcoming Kia Syros EV will bear a resemblance to its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version, but we can expect some minor changes. The EV will feature a closed front grille, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), projector LED headlamps, tail lamps, a muscular bonnet, and redesigned front and rear bumpers.
Additionally, the Syros EV will come equipped with attractive alloy wheels, blacked-out B-pillars, and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). In terms of dimensions, this electric vehicle will be similar to its ICE counterpart. The dimensions of the current Syros are 3,995 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and a height ranging from 1,625 mm to 1,680 mm.

Kia Syros: Powertrain
According to media reports, the powertrain of the Kia Syros EV will be similar to that of the Kia Carens EV; however, specific powertrain details for the Carens EV are currently unknown.
We expect the upcoming Kia Syros EV to be equipped with a 45-50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which will be connected to a powerful electric motor. With this powertrain setup, the Syros EV is expected to offer a range of approximately 500 km per charge.
The top speed of the vehicle is anticipated to be around 180 to 200 km/h.

Kia Syros EV: Cabin
The cabin of the Kia Syros EV will feature a triple-screen setup, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and a 5-inch climate control touchscreen.
The Syros EV will accommodate five passengers and will include features such as ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS technology, a premium dashboard, and rectangular AC vents. Additionally, this car will be equipped with nine airbags, as well as rear parking cameras and sensors.
The ICE version of the Syros already has a 5-star safety rating, and we expect the Kia Syros EV to achieve the same rating as well.
Kia Syros EV: Price and Availability
The Kia Syros EV is expected to be the cleanest electric car in Kia’s lineup, with a projected starting price of around Rs 14 lakhs.
The company plans to showcase this vehicle at the end of 2025, with a launch in the Indian market slated for early 2026. In India, the Syros EV will compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
