Mahindra & Mahindra has disclosed the anticipated release schedule for its upcoming Thar 5-door variant Mahindra Thar Armada. Rajesh Jejurikar, the company’s Executive Director and CEO, has affirmed that the Thar 5-door is set to debut by mid-2022 (before June).
The forthcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door model is expected to be named ‘Thar Armada’ and will be manufactured separately from the Thar 3-door version.
It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the forthcoming Force Gurkha 5-door model.

Mahindra Thar Armada: Features
The Mahindra Thar Armada will sport minor design differences to set it apart from the 3-door version, with an expected increase in length of around 300mm.
Inside the latest model, you can find features borrowed from the Mahindra Scorpio-N, including the steering wheel, utility space, and sunroof. Furthermore, buyers will have the choice between a black and brown color theme or an all-black interior.
The vehicle will also come equipped with 19-inch wheels, a 360-degree camera, and a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door will feature two engine options, similar to the current model: a 2-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel engine.

Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, along with the option of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems. Additionally, it will come equipped with rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, engine auto start/stop, and hill descent control.
Its expected price of Mahindra Thar Armada to exceed the starting price of the current model, which is 11.25 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).
