Mahindra Vision S Spied With Connected LED Tail Lights for the First Time

Mahindra’s upcoming Mahindra Vision S based SUV has been spotted again during testing, revealing a new detail at the rear. The latest night-time spy images show slim horizontal LED elements extending inward from the outer tail-lamp units.

This creates a connected-style lighting signature across the rear. The centre section remains hidden behind the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, so the images do not confirm whether the two LED strips actually connect.

Mahindra Vision S Gets New Rear Lighting Design

The latest prototype appears to feature horizontal red LED strips that run towards the centre of the tailgate. The outer sections also feature vertical lighting elements. Earlier test vehicles had shown tall lamps mounted around the rear pillars, while more recent sightings revealed a different rear lighting arrangement.

The Vision S retains its boxy SUV shape, upright rear windscreen and tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Earlier spy shots also revealed chunky tyres, with one prototype showing a 235/70 R16 marking. However, Mahindra has not confirmed the final wheel and tyre specifications.

Mahindra Vision S Platform and Powertrain

The production version of the Vision S will use Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform. Mahindra developed the architecture to support multiple powertrains, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric setups. The company has confirmed that SUVs based on the platform will enter production from 2027.

Previous spy shots have also revealed details such as LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, flush door handles and a rugged body design. Interior sightings showed a digital driver display, touchscreen infotainment system, vertical AC vents and an electronic parking brake.

Expected Launch and Positioning

Mahindra has not announced the official launch date or production name of the Vision S-based SUV. Reports indicate that the model could debut in 2027 and sit above the XUV 3XO in Mahindra’s SUV range. Speculation around the Scorpio Sport name has emerged because of the SUV’s rugged design and Scorpio-like rear lighting, but Mahindra has not confirmed this name.
