Honda has expanded its adventure motorcycle range in India with the launch of the new Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally. The two motorcycles target riders looking for lightweight off-road capability with enough practicality for everyday use. The XR300L starts at Rs. 1.83 lakh, while the more touring-focused XR300 Rally costs Rs. 2.08 lakh, both ex-showroom Bengaluru.
Honda has also opened bookings through its BigWing dealerships. Both motorcycles use the same 293.5cc single-cylinder engine and share a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup.
However, Honda has given the Rally version additional equipment for longer rides and adventure touring.

Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally: Price
The Honda XR300L costs Rs. 1.83 lakh, while the XR300 Rally carries a Rs. 2.08 lakh price tag. This makes the Rally Rs. 25,000 more expensive than the standard XR300L. Both prices refer to ex-showroom Bengaluru. Honda will sell the two motorcycles through its BigWing dealership network, and bookings are now open.
The XR300L follows a simpler dual-sport approach. It gets slim bodywork, a high front mudguard and a raised exhaust. The motorcycle uses 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, along with long-travel suspension, front and rear disc brakes and dual-channel ABS. Riders can switch off the rear ABS intervention for off-road riding. Honda also provides selectable torque control.
The XR300 Rally adds equipment for longer-distance riding. It gets a larger fuel tank, taller windscreen, knuckle guards and rally-inspired bodywork. The motorcycle also gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Honda RoadSync connectivity, while the XR300L uses a simpler LCD unit. The Rally also gets switchable ABS and traction control.
Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally: Engine and Hardware
Both motorcycles use a 293.5cc single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine related to the unit used in the Honda CB300F. International versions produce around 24.3hp and 26.5Nm, but Honda has not yet confirmed the final India-spec power and torque figures. The India-spec motorcycles also feature revised exhaust routing compared with the South American-spec XR300L.
Both bikes use a telescopic front fork and rear monoshock. Their 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels support the off-road focus. The XR300L keeps its equipment simple for trail riding, while the XR300 Rally adds more touring-focused hardware and wind protection.

Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally: Rivals
The XR300L enters a segment that includes the Hero Xpulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX230. Its Rs. 1.83 lakh price puts it close to the Xpulse 210 while undercutting the KLX230 in some markets. The XR300 Rally costs Rs. 2.08 lakh and competes with motorcycles such as the KTM 250 Adventure and other lightweight adventure models.
Honda has not yet released every India-specific specification, including final power, torque, kerb weight and suspension travel. The company is expected to provide these details as deliveries and sales preparations progress.
