Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Leaked Ahead of October 15 Launch
Mahindra is preparing to expand the XUV 3XO range with a new CNG-powered version in India. Ahead of its official debut on October 15, 2026, leaked images have revealed several details about the upcoming compact SUV.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG will become the fourth powertrain option for the model, joining its petrol, diesel and electric versions. The leaked images confirm a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG setup, while the exterior remains largely similar to the regular SUV.
The CNG version is expected to use the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a manual gearbox. Mahindra will reveal the final specifications, variants and prices at the launch.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Design
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG retains the core design of the standard XUV 3XO, with only minor changes to identify the new fuel option. Leaked images show the familiar split headlamp setup, LED daytime running lights and the overall front-end design. The CNG version also appears to feature a body-coloured panel between the headlamps with metallic inserts around the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. This treatment resembles the RevX range.
At the rear, the SUV gets connected LED tail-lamps, roof rails, a rear spoiler and a chunky black bumper with a silver skid plate. A CNG sticker on the rear windscreen is the most visible identifier. The leaked model also appears to feature 17-inch alloy wheels and a single-pane panoramic sunroof. Overall, Mahindra has avoided major cosmetic changes for the CNG version.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Powertrain
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is expected to use the existing 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection. In petrol form, this engine produces 111hp and 200Nm of torque. Mahindra has not yet confirmed the CNG version’s final power and torque figures. The output could be lower when the engine runs on CNG.
The leaked images confirm a dual-cylinder CNG setup. This arrangement should help Mahindra make better use of the available boot area compared with a single large cylinder, although the CNG system will still reduce usable luggage space. A dedicated switch for changing between petrol and CNG has also been spotted inside the cabin.
The CNG version is expected to come with a manual gearbox. Mahindra has not confirmed the transmission, fuel-efficiency figure or final CNG tank capacity yet.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Cabin
The cabin of the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG largely carries over the layout and equipment from the standard SUV. Leaked images show a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The spotted car appears to be a mid-spec variant with fabric upholstery.
The dashboard retains the familiar design, while the CNG-specific addition is a dedicated fuel-mode switch that allows the driver to change between petrol and CNG. The leaked version also features a panoramic sunroof, adding to its equipment list.
Mahindra has not announced the complete variant-wise feature list yet. The CNG system’s dual-cylinder arrangement will take up some boot space, but the final usable luggage capacity will become clear after the official launch.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Price and Rivals
Mahindra will announce the XUV 3XO CNG’s price on October 15, 2026. The CNG version is expected to cost more than its equivalent petrol variant. Its main rivals will include the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG and Tata Nexon CNG.
