Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 Reaches Chennai With 14 Sales and Service Centres: Range, Features and Price
Royal Enfield’s electric mobility brand, Flying Flea, has expanded its presence in India by bringing the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle to Chennai. The company has established 14 sales and service centres across the city to improve customer access to its first electric motorcycle.
Chennai becomes the fourth Indian market for the Flying Flea C6 after Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. The expansion will allow more customers to explore the motorcycle, book test rides and access after-sales support.
The Flying Flea C6 combines retro-inspired styling with modern electric technology, a claimed riding range of 154km and several advanced rider assistance features.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Design and Features
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 features a neo-vintage design inspired by the original Flying Flea motorcycle from the 1940s. Its most distinctive styling element is the modern girder front fork, which gives it a unique appearance.
The motorcycle also gets a round LED headlamp, sculpted magnesium battery casing, forged aluminium frame and compact bodywork. It features a circular 3.5-inch touchscreen TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity.
Other highlights include keyless entry, cruise control, hill-hold assist, wireless phone charging and a USB Type-C charging port. Royal Enfield offers the C6 in Flea Green, Storm Black and Parachute White colour options.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Powertrain and Range
The Flying Flea C6 uses a 3.91kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The electric motor produces 15.4kW of maximum power and 60Nm of peak torque.
It sends power to the rear wheel through a two-stage belt drive system. Royal Enfield claims an IDC-certified range of 154km on a single charge.
The motorcycle can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 115kmph. Its onboard charger takes around 2 hours and 16 minutes for a full charge, while a 20-80 percent charge takes 65 minutes.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6: Suspension, Brakes and Safety
The Flying Flea C6 gets a distinctive front girder-linkage hydraulic twin suspension setup, which pays tribute to the original Flying Flea motorcycle. At the rear, it uses a direct-acting monoshock suspension with an internal floating piston.
Braking duties come from a 260mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. The motorcycle also gets lean-angle-sensing dual-channel ABS with three sensitivity settings and switchable rear ABS.
Other safety features include lean-angle-sensing traction control, an electronic handlebar lock and a remote tip-over alert system. These features improve rider assistance and control in different riding conditions.
