Kia Recalled 4,300 Units Of Kia Seltos in India, Know Why?

Kia Motors has initiated a recall for its Kia Seltos SUV in India, specifically targeting variants featuring its CVT gearbox. Concerns have been raised regarding a possible malfunction in the electronic fuel pump controller of these vehicles.

The company has indicated that such an issue could impact the performance of the electronic fuel pump within CVT gearboxes.

Kia has duly informed the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) about this voluntary recall.

Let’s know about this in details.

Faulty component of Kia Seltos SUV will be replaced free of charge

The Kia Seltos, manufactured between February 28 and July 13 last year, is affected by this voluntary recall, totaling 4,358 vehicles. Kia states that they are reaching out to affected customers regarding the recall.

The faulty component will be replaced free of charge at the company’s service centers nationwide. Affected Kia Seltos CVT owners can contact their dealership to schedule an appointment or call Kia’s toll-free call center at 1800-108-5000.

The Kia Seltos CVT features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 113bhp of power and a peak torque of 144Nm.

The CVT gearbox is exclusively offered in the HTX variant, priced at 16.66 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

Prior to this, a recall was initiated in November 2020 for the 2019-launched Seltos, which also impacted the diesel version of the compact SUV at that time.
