Kia India is preparing to electrify the compact SUV segment in India, with plans to launch its all-new Kia Syros EV soon.
Recent reports indicate that the vehicle has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, and it was seen plugged into a fast charger.
This testing model has revealed exciting details about the brand’s entry into the affordable electric SUV market.

Kia Syros EV: Design
The Kia Syros EV features a boxy stance similar to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, but with some electric vehicle-specific enhancements.
These include a closed grille at the front, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, lime-green brake calipers, disc brakes on all four wheels, and dual charging ports located on the front fenders.
It also boasts LED headlamps, flush door handles, and a shark-fin antenna. In terms of dimensions, the EV is expected to be similar to the current Syros model.
Kia Syros EV: Powertrain
The Kia Syros EV is anticipated to offer two battery options: a 42 kWh and a 49 kWh battery pack. It is expected to deliver a real-world range of 300 to 400 km per charge.
While official figures have not yet been disclosed, reports suggest a top speed close to 150 km/h. Additionally, this EV will feature fast charging capabilities, making it practical for both city and highway use.
Cabin of Kia Syros EV
The cabin of the Kia Syros EV is expected to be similar to that of its ICE version, with electric-specific upgrades.
It will likely be equipped with a 12.3-inch digital driver display paired with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The system will provide EV-centric information, such as battery health, charging status, and energy consumption.
Other anticipated features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Safety Features
On the safety front, the Syros EV is expected to come equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
Kia Syros EV: Price and Availability
Kia is likely to launch the Syros EV in India by mid-2026. The expected price range is between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, it will compete with models such as the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra EV, MG Windsor EV, as well as the upcoming Maruti Fronx EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
