Recent reports indicate that the vehicle has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, and it was seen plugged into a fast charger.

This testing model has revealed exciting details about the brand’s entry into the affordable electric SUV market.

The Kia Syros EV features a boxy stance similar to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, but with some electric vehicle-specific enhancements.

These include a closed grille at the front, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, lime-green brake calipers, disc brakes on all four wheels, and dual charging ports located on the front fenders.

It also boasts LED headlamps, flush door handles, and a shark-fin antenna. In terms of dimensions, the EV is expected to be similar to the current Syros model.

Kia Syros EV: Powertrain

The Kia Syros EV is anticipated to offer two battery options: a 42 kWh and a 49 kWh battery pack. It is expected to deliver a real-world range of 300 to 400 km per charge.

While official figures have not yet been disclosed, reports suggest a top speed close to 150 km/h. Additionally, this EV will feature fast charging capabilities, making it practical for both city and highway use.

Other anticipated features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Safety Features

On the safety front, the Syros EV is expected to come equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

Kia Syros EV: Price and Availability

Kia is likely to launch the Syros EV in India by mid-2026. The expected price range is between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, it will compete with models such as the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra EV, MG Windsor EV, as well as the upcoming Maruti Fronx EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
