Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup Spied in South Africa: What to Expect
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup has started testing in South Africa ahead of its international launch. The latest test mule appeared in Johannesburg with heavy camouflage. Mahindra plans to sell the pickup in global markets under the Lifestyler name, while India will get the Scorpio Lifestyler name. The company unveiled the production version in August 2026 and plans to start deliveries in India by April 2027.
Mahindra will manufacture the pickup in India and export it to markets including South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and the Middle East. The new model will compete with established lifestyle pickups such as the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Design
The latest spy shots reveal several details of the Scorpio Lifestyler despite the heavy camouflage. The pickup carries a design inspired by the Scorpio N, especially around the front doors and cabin. It gets a large upright grille, LED headlights and vertically positioned LED fog lights. The flat bonnet and squared-off stance give it a rugged appearance.
Mahindra has separated the load bed from the passenger cabin behind the rear doors. The pickup gets pronounced wheel arches, chunky cladding, side steps and 18-inch alloy wheels with wide 255-section tyres. The load bed also gets wheel-well intrusions, which create a typical midsize pickup layout. The production model will focus on both lifestyle and utility applications.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Engine and 4WD Details
Mahindra will use the Scorpio N’s engine family for the Lifestyler pickup. The lineup will include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. Mahindra will offer manual and automatic transmission options.
The pickup will also offer a four-wheel-drive system with terrain modes. This setup should help the Lifestyler handle rough roads and off-road conditions. The new pickup uses Mahindra’s next-generation body-on-frame architecture and focuses on durability, capability and everyday usability. The company has developed the model for global markets, so it will also meet different international safety and performance requirements.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Feature-Rich Cabin
The Scorpio Lifestyler will get a more premium cabin than traditional work-focused pickups. Mahindra has showcased a new dashboard with vertically arranged AC vents and a large portrait-style infotainment screen. The cabin will also feature a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, wireless connectivity and a surround-view camera system.
The pickup will also offer advanced driver assistance features. A driver monitoring system and ADAS functions will further improve safety. However, recent test mules have shown a smaller 10.25-inch infotainment screen instead of the portrait-style unit displayed during the unveiling. Mahindra could introduce the new screen on later prototypes or production variants.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Price and Rivals in India
Mahindra has announced a starting price of Rs. 19.89 lakh for the Scorpio Lifestyler in India. Deliveries will start in April 2027. The pickup will rival the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. It will target buyers looking for a lifestyle pickup with off-road capability, modern features and everyday practicality.
