Kia India appears to be preparing for the arrival of its next flagship SUV. According to dealer sources, a few dealerships across the country have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming Kia Sorento Hybrid, even though the company has not yet made an official announcement.

The development suggests that the premium three-row SUV is getting closer to its India launch. Positioned above the Carens and Seltos, the Sorento is expected to become Kia’s flagship internal combustion SUV while introducing strong-hybrid technology to buyers looking for a fuel-efficient family vehicle.

If launched as expected, the Sorento Hybrid will compete in the growing premium SUV segment, where customers are increasingly looking for advanced technology, better fuel economy, and spacious cabins.

Unofficial Bookings Underway at Select Dealerships

Several Kia dealers have reportedly begun accepting expressions of interest for the Sorento Hybrid. Booking amounts vary depending on the dealership, with some outlets asking for Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000, while others are reportedly accepting bookings against a token amount of up to Rs 50,000.

Kia India has already indicated that it plans to expand its hybrid vehicle portfolio. While the company has not confirmed an official launch date for the Sorento, industry reports suggest the SUV could arrive during the festive season later this year or around October 2026.

The upcoming Sorento Hybrid follows Kia’s latest global design philosophy with a bold and premium appearance.

The front fascia is expected to feature the company’s signature Tiger Nose grille, flanked by sleek LED headlamps and distinctive daytime running lights. A sculpted bumper with silver skid plates adds to the SUV’s rugged look.

Kia has not announced official pricing, but industry estimates suggest the Sorento Hybrid could be priced between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on localisation and variant.

Once launched, it will compete with models such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tayron, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster.

Its biggest advantage could be its strong-hybrid powertrain, which may attract buyers looking for lower running costs without compromising on performance or premium features.
