Hyundai Motor India June 2026 Sales Report: Total Sales at 51,335 Units
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported total sales of 51,335 units in June 2026, comprising 39,635 domestic sales and 11,700 export units.
The company attributed the lower sales performance to a temporary production disruption caused by a fire at one of its key supplier facilities, which resulted in a production loss of nearly 13,900 vehicles.
Despite the setback, Hyundai confirmed that manufacturing operations returned to normal from June 22 and expects to recover the lost production during the second quarter of FY2026-27.

Hyundai Sales Decline on a Year-on-Year Basis
On a year-on-year basis, Hyundai’s domestic dispatches declined to 39,635 units from 44,024 units sold in June 2025, reflecting a drop of nearly 10%.
The decline was not demand-driven but largely stemmed from supply constraints after a fire at a component supplier disrupted production.
Hyundai emphasized that retail demand remained healthy and expects to offset the lost wholesale volumes during the current quarter as production has now stabilized.

Month-on-Month Sales Also Witness a Decline
Compared with May 2026, when Hyundai sold 47,837 units in the domestic market and recorded 61,137 total sales, June volumes declined due to temporary manufacturing disruptions.
Domestic dispatches fell by 8,202 units, while total sales also dropped accordingly. The company stated that alternative sourcing arrangements helped restore production, with all manufacturing facilities returning to normal operations before the end of the month.

Exports Continue to Support Overall Performance
Hyundai exported 11,700 vehicles during June 2026, reaffirming the company’s strong international presence despite production challenges. While export volumes were slightly lower than the previous month, overseas shipments continued to play a vital role in Hyundai’s overall business.
The automaker expects both domestic dispatches and exports to improve in the coming months as production normalizes and pending orders are fulfilled.
