Nissan Tekton Launched in India at Rs 10.49 Lakh: Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos Rival

Nissan has officially launched the all-new Nissan Tekton SUV in India with introductory prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has also started accepting bookings for the SUV with a fully refundable token amount of Rs 21,000.

The new mid-size SUV marks Nissan’s return to one of India’s most competitive vehicle segments. This SUV is Built on the same platform as the new Renault Duster and combines rugged styling, modern technology, and turbo-petrol performance.

The SUV is available in six variants with two engine options and aims to attract buyers looking for a stylish alternative to popular mid-size SUVs.

Bold SUV Design Inspired by the Nissan Patrol

The Nissan Tekton features a muscular design inspired by the flagship Nissan Patrol SUV. It gets a large front grille, sleek LED daytime running lights, C-shaped LED headlamps, and a bold front bumper that gives it a commanding road presence.

The SUV gets 18-inch alloy wheels and a modern rear design with connected LED tail lamps and Nissan badging. It measures 4.3 metres in length with a 2.6-metre wheelbase. Boot space is 518 litres with all seats up and expands to 1,789 litres when the rear seats are folded.

Buyers can also choose from five dual-tone options with an Onyx Black roof.

Powertrain and Performance

The Nissan Tekton is available with two turbo-petrol engine options. The entry-level version is powered by a 1.0-litre T160 turbo-petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Buyers looking for stronger performance can choose the 1.3-litre T280 turbo-petrol engine, available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch automatic (DCT).

Nissan has not introduced a hybrid version at launch, although more powertrain options could be added in the future. Also Its mileages stand at 19.5kmpl for T160 (6MT), T280: 17.8kmpl (6MT) and 18.5kmpl (6DCT wet clutch).

It features a 10.10-inch infotainment system with Google integration, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, powered front seats, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate.

It also has level 2 ADAS, climate control with rear AC vents, leatherette upholstery, 360-degree camera package, and ambient lighting with multiple shades.

The SUV also comes with multiple advanced safety features and has earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, making it an attractive choice for family buyers.

Price and Rivals

The Nissan Tekton is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with popular mid-size SUVs including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Renault Duster.
